The Economics of an Industry
The emu revolution is gathering momentum and is poised to become
the next substantial domestic and export earner over the world. Emu
farming has opened a potential product range that has international
scope with demands so great that the expansion over the next decade
promises to be significant, resulting in staggering earning potential
for breeders and investors alike.
A new opportunity is available for business to participate at
various levels in this exciting new industry. The emu industry is in
its infancy and now is the time to become involved. The interest and
investments in this exciting new industry are largely due to the
products and advantages discussed below:
Emu By-Product
- Emu Meat is red in color with flavor similar to beef yet
contains less calories and cholesterol than chicken. Additionally,
emu is a pure, wholesome product containing NO chemicals or
hormones. Qualities are sure to satisfy the appetites of many
health conscious people.
- Emu Oil is receiving worldwide acclaim for its medical as
well as cosmetic applications. It is currently being used and
tested as a medical carrier, an aid to arthritis and all types of
muscle and joint pain as well as a treatment for burn pain and
scarring. In addition, claims that emu oil possesses extraordinary
anti-aging elements are currently under study with results to date
attracting serious interest from the cosmetic industry.
- Emu Leather is a world class leather that is attracting
overwhelming interest in the high fashion industry as exotic
leather with high value.
- Emu Feathers are the only forked feathers in the world with
their long, narrow design complimenting high fashion and jewelry
designs in addition to practical uses such as feather dusters and
fishing lures.
- Emu Eggs are the only eggs in the world supporting 8 layers of
colors allowing them to be carved into cameo fashion heirlooms and
cut and transformed into music and jewelry boxes.
No other livestock can be compared to the emu in its offerings. In
producing two vital and at least three decorative by-products, the emu
surpasses even the buffalo in product diversity and yield.
The Emu Advantage
The emu, second only in size to the ostrich, is native to
Australia and offers strong advantages over traditional livestock.
The emu is a relatively simple animal to farm and easy to manage.
- It adapts to almost any climatic condition.
- It has a very low susceptibility to disease.
- It integrates well with other farming operations, i.e. horses,
cattle, sheep, etc.
- It requires very little ground space when compared to other
livestock, (15 acres easily accommodates up to 600 birds).
- It efficiently converts feed to meat yielding 28-30 lb. Of
premium meat at a processing age of one-year-old which also allows
quick turn over of stock for the breeder.
- It consumes negligible dollars in feed (approx. $85 per
year) resulting in a high proportion of product revenue to low
maintenance cost.
- It has created a worldwide demand for breeding stock,
meat, oil, leather, feathers and other by-products.
Emu Economics - why the time is right
NOW is the time to seize the opportunity to become involved in the
newest & most exciting agri-business. A product demand cycle is
imminent as more consumers become aware of the healthy and vital
products produced by the emu. The industry has endured through the
high-priced breeding cycle and is currently breaking into the
commercial market with secure knowledge in husbandry and product
development. This means that new comers will find stock prices
attractive, will not incur the capital losses incurred by the pioneers
in the trial & error phase of husbandry and will not have to wait
for products to be refined and developed as they are readily available
and in place.
With our population increasing rapidly, the demand for healthy meat
protein only continues to soar. Our very unstable weather patterns
have and will continue to have a devastating impact on the beef and
pork market. Here, the emu will emerge as the treasure that it is.
Unlike traditional livestock, which can take up to 3 years to harvest,
the emu is ready to harvest in just one year.
Because the bird population is relatively small, the demand for
product will quickly exhaust all available harvest stock. As a result,
the industry will enjoy a returned value for the existing breeding
birds and higher prices for foundation stock as well as slaughter
stock. It is inevitable that a surge in breeding stock prices will
once again occur as these cycles continue through the laborious birth
of an industry.
Complete breeding and Management Facility
We will export eggs to China for incubating, hatching &
farming. Nutritional needs are met through a strict and specialized
feed program developed to insure high productivity from breeding stock
and premium yields from slaughter stock. Management and facilities
incorporate the latest technology for optimum results at all levels.
China Joint Venture Emu Farming
The corporation has initiated discussion with some potential
Chinese partners in the emu farming project. It is our intention to
build several emu farms in China that we can export emu eggs to China
as our investments.
Since emu in North America will lay eggs during November to April
every year and emu in Peru will lay eggs from June to September. Thus
we can export emu eggs to China all year around.
Peru Emu Farming
Peru emu farm this year can export 600 emu eggs to China and next
year it will lay more than 1000 eggs. The following are the pictures
of Peru Emu Farm.
Emu Export from North America
The corporation will purchase emu eggs from North America and
export to China for a reasonable profit. It is our intention to
acquire emu farms in North America to supply emu eggs to China.
Future Development
The corporation will first setup a model emu farm in China. Within
a few years, this can be developed into a new type of farming since
the great market demand in red meat. Most of farmers in China are
individuals and emu farming can be inexpensive and profitable to them.
Many chicken farms in China will like to expand into other animal
farming business and emu will be one of them that they will consider.
The corporation is also in discussion to setup a joint ventured
slaughterhouse for beef, emu and other animals. Commercial emu farming
is one of the ultimate agriculture ventures of the corporation.
