What
the exhibitors said...
Returning Hong Kong
exhibitor Tiger Enterprise Corp. increased their booth size to 54 square
metres for 2002. "Last year we had a booth at both the stationery fair and
the toys fair," said Betty Chan, Tiger's Sales Manager, "but our
product are more suited for the stationery fair, so this year we decided to put
all our marketing efforts into this show."
Mirage International
(USA) expressed enthusiasm for the high number of professional stationery buyers
that they had seen. "Buyers here are focused on stationery," said
Nancy Wen. "It is a place for serious business."
Exhibitors
in the office products category were similarly impressed with the show. Rolf
Hess of Peach Office Products was very pleased with the company's first
participation in the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair. "We made the
right decision to come here, the results have been excellent," he said on
the final day. "We are here looking for partners and distributors, and
we've made many potential contacts."
What
the buyers said...
"We are specialist
suppliers of inkjet and laser toners, paper and printed stationery," said
Ed Oswald, Director of Tonetime in the UK. "I came here looking for
manufacturers who can provide quality products from Asia, and have found many
useful business contacts. This show is an excellent venue for sourcing."
Shopping
for major Japanese retailer The Loft Co., VIP buyer Shinji Hirata found
great benefits in holding the stationery fair alongside the toy fair. "25%
of our business is in stationery products, and we also carry a wide range of
adult games and toys. The line between toys and stationery products is sometimes
very fine, and so it makes sense to put these two shows side-by-side."
